Latin and Western Dance

The Latin and Western Dance workshop at Alliance Française de Dhaka is a vibrant and rhythmic exploration of dance styles that combine the exuberance of Latin dance with the elegance of Western dance forms. This workshop offers an exciting opportunity for dance enthusiasts of all skill levels to learn, express themselves, and immerse in the dynamic world of dance.

Participants in this workshop are introduced to a wide array of dance styles, including Salsa, Cha-Cha, Tango, Waltz, and more, allowing them to experience the passionate and rhythmic movements of Latin dance as well as the graceful and structured forms of Western dance. The workshops are led by experienced dance instructors who provide step-by-step guidance and choreography, enabling students to develop their dance skills and stage presence.

Moreover, the Latin and Western Dance workshop at Alliance Française de Dhaka goes beyond just learning dance steps; it promotes cultural diversity and fosters a sense of community among participants. It provides a space for individuals to socialize, connect, and share their love for dance while celebrating the fusion of different dance traditions.

Whether you are a novice dancer looking to explore new rhythms or an experienced dancer seeking to refine your skills, this workshop offers an engaging and enjoyable experience that transcends borders and brings people together through the universal language of dance.

The enrollment can be taken monthly basis depending on the availability of seats. (First come, first served)

– Each group consists of 3-4 students.

– Classes : 1 hour

– Duration of courses: Basic 3 months (24 classes)

– Number of Hours: Basic: 36 hours (applicable for 20+)

– Class Schedule:

DHANMONDI: Friday from 5:30pm-7:30pm & Monday from 7:30pm-9:00pm GULSHAN: Saturday from 7:30pm-9:00pm & Tuesday from 7:30pm-9:00pm

– Course Fees: 9000 BDT/ 3 months (payable at the time of enrollment)

– Course duration: Basic: 3 months + Advance: 1 yr. (fees will be monthly)

Manik Mia

Manik Mia, presently he is the coordinator of Latin and Western Dance workshop at Alliance Française de Dhaka since 2017

He had started his career at this platform after 2006 and came to create an identity on this platform. He actively learned dance steps from the then Coordinator Majid Shikhaliev (Russia) and participated in a workshop with Anand Das (India).

Since 2008, he started his career as a Latin and Western dance teacher assistant at Alliance Francaise with former coordinator Majid Shikhaliev. He had assisted him for a long time. last 15 years he had been a professional latin and western dance teacher at Alliance Française de Dhaka. In addition, he is performing and choreographing in numerous Award functions, TVC choreography, music video choreography TV channels, etc.

Suma Akter Aka

I’m Suma Akter, Dance is my first priority. In the beginning, I embarked on my journey in the theater and then transitioned to creating my own identity in the dance world after 2000. My dance education was shaped by my two amazing teachers, Majid Shikhaliev from Russia and Anand Das from India, who awarded me with my certificate.

Furthermore, I am proud to say that I have also received certification from Alliance Française de Dhaka. Since 2002, I have been teaching Western dance at Alliance Française de Dhaka, under the guidance of my beloved teacher, MAJID Shikhaliev. I’ve been assisting him for a significant period of time and have been a professional dance teacher at Alliance Française de Dhaka for the past 13 years.

In addition to teaching, I have been involved in various dance-related activities such as performing and choreographing for award functions, TVC and music video choreography, as well as collaborating with TV channels.
