Ashish Khandakar (Coordinator)

Ashish Khondker graduated from NSD in 1991 and began his professional career in theatre with a unique concept called “Poribesh Theatre” or “Environmental Theatre.” He then went on to establish the Space and Acting Research Centre (SARC-BD Theatre) and has accumulated 32 years of experience as a methodologist, actor, director, groomer, writer, translator, set designer, composer, space researcher, and producer in both Theatre and Film.

 

 

Additionally, he has taught at two universities and was actively involved in a prominent drama club from 1978 to 1985 as an actor, playwright, and artistic director. Currently, he serves as the Artistic Director and Founder of Space and Acting Research Centre (bdtheatre) since 1992 and has been teaching at the Friday Theatre School since 2005, in collaboration with Alliance Française de Dhaka, Dhanmondi.

 

 

He has also worked as a faculty member at Green University of Bangladesh from September 2017 to May 2019 and at State University from September 2015 to May 2017 in the departments of Journalism & Media Communication and Journalism, Communication and Media Studies (JCMS) respectively. Furthermore, he served as a drama teacher at the British School in Dhanmondi, Dhaka from 2000 to 2002.
