BIOGRAPHY

Bishwajit Roy – Artist

Bishwajit Roy – Artist

Bishwajit Roy, born on February 25, 1990, in Khulna, Bangladesh, is a dedicated and innovative artist specializing in ceramics and sculpture. His artistic journey reflects his passion for exploring cultural narratives, environmental themes, and community-based art.

Bishwajit holds a Master of Fine Arts in Design (Ceramic and Glass) and a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan, Visva Bharati University, India, complemented by a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Khulna University, Bangladesh.

He has participated in numerous workshops that honed his skills, including experimental ceramics, wood carving, and watercolors, under notable mentors like PR Daroz and Tarun Ghosh. As a trainer, he has also conducted a bronze workshop titled Dhatab Taran, showcasing his leadership and expertise.

Bishwajit’s works have been featured in prominent exhibitions, including:

“Recollected – স্মরণ” at Alliance Française, Dhaka (2024).
“Song of Roots – শেকড়ের গল্প” curated by Khandakar Nasir Ahammed (2023).
The 25th National Art Exhibition at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (2023).
Kala Bhavana Art Exhibitions in India.
He has actively contributed to youth and public art events, such as the 6th Youth Art Exhibition at Shilpakala Academy and the S.M. Sultan Festival Art Exhibition.

Bishwajit’s expertise lies in ceramics, sculpture, and public art installations. His works often reflect community culture and environmental themes, bringing a unique depth to his art. As a founding member of Shwasmul Arts, he continues to foster artistic dialogue and collaboration in the Bangladeshi art scene.

Currently based in Khulna, Bishwajit remains committed to his artistic pursuits, inspiring audiences and aspiring artists alike with his creativity and vision.
