Yvan Amar
Yvan Amar has been a producer at Radio France since 1987. While he was a French teacher for a long time, he continues to be involved in language-related programs at Radio France Internationale. As a producer at France Culture, he has successively created thematic music programs (on topics such as prisons, trains, child prodigies, the Mississippi River), conducted in-depth profile interviews (featuring artists like Gil Evans, Thelonious Monk, Art Tatum), and hosted current affairs music magazines (like “Un Poco Agitato,” “Laissez-passer,” “L’Oreille d’un sourd”).
For fourteen years, he organized the jazz concert series “Transcontinentales” at France Culture. After studying piano, philosophy, and literature, he worked as a French teacher for a few years. Since 1984, he has been actively involved in programs related to the French language and Francophone literature at Radio France Internationale.
Yvan Amar is now responsible for the Jazz Club on France Musique, which airs on Saturdays from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and he produces several Grand Interviews each year.
